Teaching Bio
Kyung-Nam Oh has been teaching cello since 2002, and his passion for teaching cello to students has led to many successful students’ concerts as well as multiple competition winners. He earned a Master’s degree from Ball State University and a Performance Diploma from Indiana University with a Dean’s Scholarship. He also has a wide range of teaching experience that includes teaching children to college students in one-on-one lessons, chamber group coaching and orchestra conducting. He was an adjunct cello faculty at Anderson University and Taylor University for 10 years. He also served as Music Director of Master’s Youth Orchestra and Anderson University Chamber Orchestra. Mr. Oh has served as an adjudicator of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra Young Musicians Competition, Muncie Symphony Orchestra Young Artist Competition, and ISSMA Solo District Competitions. He is Artistic Director & Cello Instructor at Youth and Family Enrichment Services, Hyde Park. He joined as a South Shore Conservatory faculty member to teach cello and coaching chamber groups in 2017. Mr. Oh joined the LSRHS Music department as Orchestra Director in 2018.

Performance Bio
Kyung-Nam Oh earned a Master’s degree from Ball State University and a Performance Diploma from Indiana University with a Dean’s Scholarship. His teachers have included Mihai Tetel, Sharon Robinson, and Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi. He has appeared as a soloist with multiple orchestras in the US and South Korea and was invited to perform in the Candles & Carols concert series which was broadcast nationally on WIPB public television and internationally through the EWTN network. His solo and chamber music recitals have featured engagements in the US Mid-West, South Korea, Ireland and Hungary, and he has played in Masterclasses of Richard Aaron, Arto Noras, Timothy Eddy, Hans Jørgen Jensen and Janos Starker. He was winner of BSU Graduate Solo Competition and a member of Anderson Symphony Orchestra, Muncie Symphony Orchestra, Appssionati Ensemble, and Trio Cantabile.
