Tom Grandprey
L-S Director of Bands & Interim FATA Dept. Coordinator

Previously he has taught music theory, jazz improvisation, a beginning guitar course, and a songwriting course.

Mr. G. has conducted the L-S Pit Orchestra for Urinetown, Footloose, West Side Story, Bat Boy, Into The Woods, Pippin, and Kiss Me Kate. In previous positions he has conducted West Side Story (Twice!), Anything Goes, My Fair Lady, and Grease.

Mr. Grandprey has served as the Site Host for the MMEA Eastern District Junior Music Festival, as manager for the Eastern District Jazz Band, and as manager for the All State Jazz Band.

Previously, Mr. G. has taught at Middlesex School Summer Arts Camp, David Prouty H.S. in Spencer, Massachusetts where he was awarded the iParenting teacher of the month, and at Mayo H.S. in Rochester, Minnesota where he was an active performer, clinician and judge for music festivals.

Mr. Grandprey holds a Bachelor of Music Degree from the University of Minnesota and a Masters of Music in Jazz Studies with an Emphasis in Pedagogy from the Boston Conservatory / Berklee College of Music Collaborative Jazz Masters Program.

Mr. Grandprey is an alumnus of Up With People.
